I reserve this time-honored technique for patients with SEVERE facial and neck laxity. A traditional facelift with open incisions around the ear is most effective for treating the lower 1/3rd of the face and the neck. Special attention is paid to the pretragal area (the little cartilage in front of the ear) to preserve its natural shape.
