This is the breast enhancement procedure I find most interesting and rewarding. Either through hormonal changes following breast feeding or the natural aging process, a woman's breasts may sag and lose their shape. A breast lift, or mastopexy, reshapes a woman's breasts and gives a firmer, more shapely and youthful look.

If a woman has good quality breast skin tone (without loose skin or stretch marks) and the distance that the nipple areolar complex has to be lifted is not too far, I prefer to use a minimally invasive technique placing the incision just around the borders of the areolar complex. The breast mound can be reshaped through this incision to give it a firmer appearance. Excess skin around the areola is removed and tightened.

If the breast skin is loose, thin, and has stretch marks and the distance that the nipple areolar complex has to be lifted is far, then the best cosmetic result can be achieved by using an anchor shaped incision along the natural contour of the breast. This is a more versatile incision where I can move, rotate and sculpt the excess skin and breast tissue and recontour the breast mound as well as reposition the nipple to give the breast a new and youthful appearance. The skin is pulled snugly around the new nipple to complete the firming process. I prefer to use long lasting but self absorbing sutures all on the inside and in four different layers. I try to put many sutures on the deep tissues to keep the tension on the wound on the inside so there is minimal tension on the surface skin of the incision. This suturing technique will help to keep the scar from spreading. I prefer to bury all the sutures so no stitches will need to be removed postoperatively.
